Before getting into the taxi, you need to agree on the fair with the driver, it's usually 5 GEL in the city and 10 GEL for far distances in the city and 20 GEL to or from the airport.

I strongly suggest to avoid restaurants and ice cream shops located in very city center, especially those belonging to most famous places, like Piazzale Michelangelo, Piazza della Signoria and Ponte Vecchio: poor quality but very expensive. If you want to try something good and typical, i suggest to go to the upper floor restaurants in Mercati Generali in San Lorenzo: adequate price and good quality.

If you travel to the city of Bath, consider staying at the University of Bath. The accommodations are comfortable, affordable, and in a great location. Also, definitely book a spa session at the Thermae Spa. The only natural hot springs spa in the UK.

If you are in London, do not rely on having free access to internet via wi-fi in restaurants / cafés. In my experience, most of the places did not have free wi-fi hotspots.

This is for those of you who live in a city with clean air–London air smells very strongly of diesel fumes.

The subway system in London is very good, and convenient. It's the best way to get anywhere in that city. Plus it's social for an American tourist. When I went there, I was so busy sightseeing during the day that the only time I had a chance to chat with the locals was when I was traveling on the Tube.

London is a nice city–friendly locals who love to talk. Put yourself out there and start conversations with these people! I found many Londoners to be very social, cultured, and open-minded.

When travelling to the cities of Bath or Bristol from the London Heathrow airport, usually is the best to take the train. However, at the moment the Great Western Main Rail Line between London and Bristol is being modernised with lot of disruptions in service, so until 2017 is smarter to take the bus. Travel will take 2,5 hours, but service is reliable and comfortable including wifi on board.
